Snake Island Wall

• Depth: drops past 200 ft

In the shallow part of this dive, there are ledges to swim around and check out.

There is quite a bit of marine life in the first 60 ft range. The overhangs drop off after about 70 and plunge into blackness. However, the wall structure changes from wall, to overhangs, to cave like indentations. A very interesting wall to explore. I haven’t seen a lot of the seals when diving this wall, even though they are very close by, but they are around and if you do encounter one, they are very curious and very friendly. They will come right up to your mask and tug on it with their teeth, to kind of taste it and figure out what it is. So if you have an encounter with a seal, watch your fingers (they’ll nip at your gloves too) and hang onto your gear.
